Small signal stability of washout filter–based power sharing for an inverter‐based microgrid

Different control tasks within a microgrid are usually classified into hierarchy including zero, primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. Generally, power sharing lies in the primary level utilizes droop control. Droop causes deviation of voltage frequency from their nominal values subsequent to load generation changes an islanded microgrid. To eliminate these deviations, secondary level, incorporating low-bandwidth communication links, is employed. However, increases complexity cost system. A washout filter–based approach has been proposed that can maintain thereby need for links. This paper further investigates this concept derives state-space small-signal model controller study enable systematic design performance evaluation, example, stability parameter selection. The results compared with those same conventional controllers. Finally, simulation case studies conducted PSCAD/EMTDC tool validate results.
